CDL Driver/Environmental Field Technician
Reports to: Field Supervisor/Operations Manager
Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday, Variable Start and Quit Times
Primary Responsibility: Driving and Operating Commercial Motor Vehicle(s), Waste Management Services,
Required Training: New Employee Orientation, Equipment Training, HAZWOPER 40 Hour, Confined Space Entry/Rescue, RCRA/DOT, PEC Premier, OSHA 10 Hour Construction, Bi-Monthly Safety Meetings, Site Specific Training, other training as required by position
Required Education: Accredited High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
Required Certification: Current PA Class A or Class B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements in good standing
Required Experience: 3 years recent CDL driving and operating experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Performs operation of commercial motor vehicle(s) with frequent stops/pickups
- Performs a wide variety of tasks associated with industrial waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment and facility decontamination and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Pumps, transports and disposes of liquid and semi-solid wastes, some septic tank cleaning
- Performs tasks involving vacuum trucks, bulk hauling equipment and high pressure water jetting equipment
- Excellent attitude toward personal safety, process safety, and environmental compliance
- 24/7 on-call availability every 5th week, to support our emergency response teams
- Other duties as required by the position
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to wear a tight fitting, negative-pressure respirator and occlusive chemical protective clothing
- Ability to enter confined space(s) through an 18” opening
- Position requires working on uneven work surfaces, frequent pushing/pulling/carrying of equipment/objects/debris of varying and often awkward sizes, shapes, and weights including bending, lifting, pushing and pulling of tank truck hoses
- May occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and frequently lift 40-50 pounds
- Frequently climbs ladders, stairs, etc.
- May use both manual and power hand tools such as hand shovels while being exposed to noise and vibration
- Periodic/frequent work with hazardous chemicals while utilizing designated personal protective equipment
- Exposure to elements including heat and cold, confined spaces, heights, dust conditions, and working alongside streams/rivers
- May work up to 12 hours per day, seven days per week
- Occasional overnight stays may be required

Dispatcher / Scheduler / Planner (DSP)
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a dispatch, logistics or transportation type of position for a company in the trucking, transportation, industrial services or waste management industries
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to waste handling and transportation of hazardous materials. Familiarity with PA DEP preferred
- Emergency response dispatch experience, (including first responder experience), in the transportation, trucking or rail industries preferred
- Assigns and schedules drivers and field services personnel to industrial services, gas and oil services, delivery/pick up, tank pump out, emergency response and other waste services work
- Schedules employees to jobs in an organized manner (number of hours per day, sequencing of jobs, time duration, job location)
- Administers a scheduling procedure that forecasts equipment and employee usage and needs
- Ensures that employees are dispatched to jobs in a timely manner
- Properly executes end-of-the-day processes
- Maintains proper records and ensures information is executed timely and correctly. Information includes work orders, manifests, bills of lading
- Assists in providing clear job expectations to employees (start/finish time, route, job duties/tasks, safety considerations, disposal options)

Driver Trainer
Reports to: Operations Manager

Primary Responsibility: Train and develop employees on CDL vehicles and equipment

Required Certification: Unexpired PA CDL A in good standing
Required Experience: Previous successful Driver Trainer development and testing experience
Responsibilities:
- Complete and evaluate interviewing employee candidate road testing
- Develop and oversee Permit to License training for current employees
- Develop and train current employees from Class B to class A status
- Assist to develop and manage the Mentoring programs
- Manage Driver Mentors roster
- Manage all Licensed Drivers and the Mentor Program
- Monitor a developed driver’s performance into MEI specific achievements
- Instruct equipment operation training for new and current employees
- Perform and evaluate Ride Along Observations

Fleet Manager
Reports to: President
Schedule: Monday through Friday, minimum 45 hour work week
Primary Responsibility: Manage the equipment, materials and Shop employees from a business and strategic perspective
Required Training: New Employee Orientation, Equipment Training, HAZWOPER 40 Hour, Confined Space Entry/Rescue, RCRA/DOT, PEC Premier, OSHA 10 Hour Construction, Bi-Monthly Safety Meetings, site specific training, other training as required by position
Required Education: Bachelor of Science degree in a business or engineering discipline is preferred
Required Certification: Class A CDL is preferred with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements; Class III Inspection License
Required Experience: Five (5) or more years of fleet management experience required; experience with trucking companies, heavy equipment companies and excavating companies and contractors; Strong knowledge of the principles and methods used in the planning and coordination of an effective preventive maintenance program; Mack & Peterbilt truck experience and small engine repairs
Responsibilities:
- Manages an annual budget (equipment, materials, staff)
- Supervises a staff of Diesel Mechanics, Welders and Wash Bay personnel
- Manages an inventory of several hundred vehicles and specialized pieces of operating equipment such as rolloff containers and vacuum trucks
- Manages a fleet maintenance department from a business, strategic perspective (PM schedules, selling/buying of equipment involvement, hours of utilization)
- Plans, directs and monitors preventive maintenance and repair programs and schedules for all company vehicles and operating equipment (hours of vehicle and equipment utilization; asset management, equipment inspections, employee hours, work schedules, internal/external vendor performed maintenance work)
- Performs justification and life cycle cost analyses; performs trend analyses for various vehicle performance and maintenance issues and related expenses
- Assists in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for vehicle maintenance using best known practices
- Involved in equipment asset management – makes recommendations as to purchasing or upgrading equipment
- Establishes and maintains relationships with external repair vendors
- Responsible for equipment inspections
- Some hands-on vehicle and equipment repair work as necessary
- 24/7 on-call availability every 5th week, to support our emergency response teams
